What a mind-blowing experience
to sit down and pick ONE
square from the many
---arrivals---
---arrivals---
Some of you made it obvious,
your story helped me to choose,
while others sent in 8-10 squares
causing more thought on my part-
eeny, meeny, miny, mo,
(just teasing)
a lot of time went into gathering
a lot of time went into gathering
the squares for our doll.
The above photo shows the squares
that will be lovingly stitched to
"Love Squared," and for those
who haven't visited in awhile
that is the official name for our doll.
"Love Squared"

Several words seen----repeated----
in the squares
LOVE, HOPE, FAITH.
Several artists have stitched the initials
of their loved ones in thread and/or beads
while one group member embroidered
the face of a pet that was left behind.

One artist stitched down a flower
made by her loved one to a square.
REMEMBRANCEmany of you included a dedication.
Most told me how this project helped you
to remember & honor your family or friend
afflicted with breast cancer.
One artist wrote of the anger
she felt when her loved ones
lives were stolen by BC.
One artist shared her passion ofapplying henna to cancer patients who
suffered hair loss...
Not only breast cancer was mentioned here, also spoken of were lung cancer, cervical cancer,
colon cancer, cancer of the eyes...

I know you are eager to celebrate
our dolls beginnings...
but, before we do I wanted to say...
THANK YOU
for your participation!
Thanks for sharing your story
and motivation behind becoming a PINk Artist.
Down the road, I'd love to share the
many stories from the Pink Artist
----family members and friends,----
as well as YOUR story
because I believe it will
bring healing & comfort to many
folks dealing with breast cancer.
Most stories you can read now
by clicking on the artists link
found by their square(s).
-This is a celebration of Pink Artists-
I'm truly blessed to be working with YOU.
YOU made this an extraordinary party to host
-thanks so much for giving so graciously-
and generously of your time, energy, and spirit.

Rock donated by ebI wanted the rock to be incorporated into our doll
to represent the strength and resilience,
the weathering of the storm one day at a time,
unwavering and determination of YOU,
your friends and your family
to LIVE each day to its fullest.

Now, what have I been holding back on?
A few more surprises to share-
Our friend, Grace of GraceBeading,
with her incredible talents as bead and doll artist
has created & donated to our group a crown fit for a
QUEEN...
it doubles as a crown for our doll
& bracelet for the owner
GENIUS!

Isn't it exquisite? Shall we all try it on for a fitting? Please stop by her blog and blow her kisses

Our dolls skirt awaits.
Notice the wire addition?
Wondering what that is?
What is it for?
It's actually a hanging metal wire flower basket,
that's been stripped of its clips, turned upside down
and added to our doll.
Why???
Besides that it is "cute" and can have squares stitched to it as well as to the cloth skirt...
it will be a sturdy surface for the holding of THE BUTTERFLY BOX.

Now, I've planned to take a week off for
Spring Break to work on our doll (3/9-3/16).
This will be the last post I make
while I clear my schedule
and finish up orders and such.
I'll return Monday the 17th
with more progress on our doll.
I'll take plenty of photos for sharing...
until then, continue the celebration!
Sit back, breathe in the beauty
and know...
WE DID THIS!
Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!
This is the most rewarding project I've worked on to date.
for her generous contribution.

All the thought and caring spent to make this project a success is awe inspiring. It has been a privilege to join with all these artists for such a wonderful cause. None of this would have been possible without you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

WOW! I cannot wait to see the finished dress on the doll wearing her beautiful crown and holding such a special box filled with love. This project was rewarding in so many ways. I didn't include a story with my squares, but they were sent to honor three special ladies I knew who battled breast cancer. I am thrilled to be a part of this magnificent and meaningful project. Thanks MM for dreaming it up! Hugs to all!
I am pretty sure I am going to cry. I think I saw one of my squares in there....I think it is going to be on the dress! And just today, I posted about my Grammy...and I get to honor her on our girl. I am so amazed at everyones work, and the crown, and the box...it is all just too much...we ROCK girlfriends!
Dear Monica,
