When Staci Dumoski at Art Doll Quarterly™ asked me to write the article to accompany our Pink Artist doll, Love Squared using just 1,000 words, I didn't think it would be possible. How to convey the emotion we feel and the magnitude of this project in so few words? When given the opportunity to push that boundary just a tad, I literally unplugged my PC and instead of counting words I sat on the floor and literally surrounded myself with letters- thank you letters written by pink artists from around the world.

When we created our art squares we have "pushed the envelope," being certain that in the process our voices would be heard. We acted and are MAKING CHANGE.
Push the Envelope: To attempt to extend the current limits of performance. To innovate, or go beyond commonly accepted boundaries.
You might scroll back up to see the first picture in this post which also coincides with the first line read on page 50. Beautiful people DO make beautiful things happen. We are living *PROOF*.
Below are some of the art squares you read about in the article: Hannah's square that reads, "Hope," Linda's square that holds her mother's crocheted flower, JoAnnA's representation of her scar, and Gloria's square that tells us it is NOT solely about looks.

We have taken yellow roses and Henna'd beauties,

added Laughter and Sloppy wet pet kisses,

and are Standing Up for our neighbors, family, and friends!

We have SHOUTED from rooftops and DID SOMETHING... even if one might think that 2" won't count for anything. Try it. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
Oh and it issss exuberating how "one act" can SPIRAL out-of-control (or "in" control I should say). Yes, the ripple effect. Your $1 added to MANY will add up. So please join us in MAKING A DIFFERENCE now until October 15, 2008 by clicking the links below:
