The Pink Artists cross the finish line!

Edited 10/24: YAY! Package to Susan G Komen has been shipped off! Our donations are finally on the way to do some GOOD, happy happy joy joy!!! I included a copy of the ADQ mag and a note FROM ALL OF US, the note thanked their staff for the hard work they do! With a full heart I can now move on to newer projects (and some old ones)... *whew* my "to do" list is begging for me to knock out a few items off the list. I'm on it! Let the art posts continue! Edited 10/23: Package to Susan G Komen is all wrapped up & ready to go. I was waiting on one last item to arrive prior to mailing. I'll be informing their office later today to expect it soon! And Cynthia just notified me that our beautiful doll, Love Squared has made it SAFE & SOUND to her new home. Outstanding! Cyn is unusually "speechless." We did it! Put on some music and DANCE, it's time to CELEBRATE! Pink artists & friends get ready to shake what yer momma gave ya for we dug deep into our pockets and managed to raise... get ready for it... $3,028.34 for Susan G. Komen for the cure. TAKE A BOW! Let that smile wrap from ear to ear, pat yourself on the back, give yourself a HUG, BREATH DEEPLY for you, you have helped to save lives. What is more beautiful than that?

It was a Team effort. Partnering up with family & friends, and strangers. Recently my mom traveled from NC to Dallas on an airplane and sat next to a complete stranger, a young girl who when my mom told her about the pink artist project, gasped, "I know of it!" The girl proceeded to share how her own mother fought breast cancer and won. It's amazing how many lives we've touched! We'll never know the number, but I KNOW it's higher than we think.

SHE IS CANCER FREE. .

BEAUTY.

Full.

The days leading up to this point have been many.

Raw. Anxious. Tearful. Laughter. Kind of days.

But, nothing has prepared ME for this day!

I'm letting go,

moving on,

TRUSTING.

Today was a REMINDER to me

that EVERYTHING happens for a reason.

EVERYONE

has a role to fill.

A PURPOSE.

I've done my part here.

So have YOU.

Oh, am I missing something?

Something BIG?

(jumping back on my soapbox)

I only have ONE regret during this journey.
Before we reached this point,

a pink artist's mother sadly passed away

before seeing what we did here.

The pink artist created her squares while sitting by the bedside

of her mother's hospital bed, giving away

2x2 inch art squares to nurses.

I NEVER made the dedication I so wanted to DO then.

Please let me now...

to HER, I also DEDICATE our doll

LOVE SQUARED.

I know that her mother was watching over us

as the names were being pulled.

When my husband, Jeff pulled that name,

I literally felt goosebumps.

I thought, "Yes, she is exactly WHO is s'posed to have our doll."

The pink artist doll, Love Squared goes to...

Cynthia Bicker,

it is our honor to have YOU own our doll.

by the lives of many...
